Question 2 (MatMAD)
Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) and Critical Path Method (CPM) both help managers to plan the timing of projects involving consecutive activities. They identify the time thats required to complete the activities in the project. Every activity is assigned an earliest and latest start time and end time. The activities with no “slack” time are set under the critical path which is the path that must stay on time for the project to stay on schedule. Agile management is being able to adapt to unexpected changes or delays that may happen with during production. In this chapter it says that this is mostly focused on the technology side of product. I can see how this would be very important for many companies that products which are surrounded by technology. With technology being very delicate and changing constantly it is necessary for businesses to makes sure that they can produce something that consumers are going to be willing to by without any defects. On the other hand I think that ever business should incorporate some type of system that will prepare them for unexpected delays in production. Just because we have a process that is working for the company now does not mean we will not run into problems that could put a pause in production. We should make sure that we can handle any challenges we may face for new and continuing products. Thoughts?

More and more businesses are incorporating technology in their business. This is referred as E-business or electronic business. as many business still use forms of paper documents as they conduct business. “E-business is the replacement of physical business processes with electronic ones (Russel and Taylor 2016).” It is becoming more efficient for them to transfer over to E-business. For example, the DOT just passed a law that all trucking companies will incorporate electronic logs starting at the beginning of next year. Electronic logs are easier to keep track of and make it easier for truck drivers to communicate with their company and companies they deliver/pickup goods. As the trucking industry transforms to E-business it will greatly improve the trucking industry. Would you agree or disagree? Provide example.
